An anomalous area has recently been discovered in the Black Forest, on the estates of the Abbey of St Blasius of Wild Beasts. The nuns and monks call it the Zone. It tricks the senses, it spreads doubt and unbelief, and those who have wandered in have not returned. Still many try, chasing rumors of immortality bestowed, wishes granted, and questions answered. The Vatican has forcefully assumed control, with Pope Honorius II sending four outsiders to explore, investigate, and determine once and for all if the Zone is godly or ungodly.
